: admit it, on first read, it is kind of rediculous. Certainly took me some getting used to. But upon later reads, which have been many, I find it gets better and better. Despite it's flaws, there is something strangely compelling in the story of Titus Andronicus. And the characters are not near as flat as people would like to say. Just stylized. I've been writing a paper on the subject of Tit : us as a precursor to King Lear, and it dawned on me that, as an actor, I'd much rather tackle Titus than Lear. He has more going on, and actually DOES something as opposed to standing around moaning like Lear. What's the problem? Give it a break.
