From figure of Huygens' principle, it seems to me that the speed of leflection ray is same to the speed of entrance ray always(from view point of mirror). Therefore, speed of ray in experiment device may be same(because only mirror intervenes) whichever direction device face in space. As I said above, length of two ray course are same. So, there may not be any significant gap between two rays(at goal point).
