: How do you reverse calculate percentages? In other words $789.23 x .0825 (tax) = $65.11
: Add them both together $789.23 + $65.11 = $854.34
: The question is, what if you only have $854.34 to work with, how do you figure out how to get the tax and pre-tax amount?
Hey, I found the answer but I don't know how.
Take your total amount and divide it by 1.0825 this gives you your taxable amount then you can multiply by .0825 and get your tax. Add these together and you have your total again.
