As I have translated the Tractatus in Albanian, I come to ask you kindly some suggestions regarding the terminology used in this difficult text, before I send it to the publisher.
1 – Translating the first statement of Tractatus, instead of the word “world” I’ve used a neologism in Albanian – botësia – which would correspond to the German Weltlichkeit, and to the English worldness. This choice corresponds, I guess, with the concept that Wittgenstein had of the “formal” world, i.e. the totality of facts, the totality of the object’s relationships, of states of affairs. Consequently, I think the world Witgenstein aims speaking is not the “world such as it is”, but the “world as a logical performance”. What do you think about?
2 – Standing at the first statement, what’s really a “case” for Wittgenstein, just what happens, or “what may happen”, i.e. a possibility?
3 – At the second statement, we encounter the difficult and much complicated concept “state of affairs”, for which translation I’ve recurred to another neologism – bashkevendesim. The Albanian word means here a co-situation of affairs, and it puts in evidence another specific effect of the co-situation of the objects: relating necessarily to one another, the objects do sign quasi automatically their own “place” – situs – in relation to the other objects. Would you give me your opinion in regards?
