It seems apparant that a large majority of our current society do not WANT conscienceness. They are happy hiding in a cloud of ignorance and enjoy the shallower splendors of life, i.e. television, video-games, etc. So the systems of control are only bad in the sense that they promote the laziness. Peoples infatuation with irrationality and laziness stems from a deep-seeded desire to do nothing more then what is required of ones self. Throughout histroy there has existed a definite distinction between the few true philosophers and the average day Joe who does not care to ponder such matters. One would think (or hope) that the number of individuals who want to understand how the universe works increases in the future, isted by m communications and the consolidation of knowledge at an international effort, e.g. the internet.
In conclusion, the government, media, etc. are only iting in the perpetuation of a dream that already exists in the hearts of the mes. The means do exist for any such individual to explore oneself. All that is required of them is to pick up a library card.
