: : Irrationality and dishonesty as the source of problems of today's society
: : Looking at today's society, it may seem very complex, consisting
: : of all kinds of influences, traditions and beliefs. Seeing our
: : civilization from an objective viewpoint, however, reveals
: : problems exist in every aspect of our civilization. By applying
: : objectivity and scientific knowledge, one can understand the
: : cause of this state of being.
: : To understand our current civilization, it is crucial to
: : understand how it originally started. Obviously, man is a result
: : of the biological evolution process. Prehistorical humans existed
: : for more than ten thousand years as extremely intelligent
: : animals. Because of their complex brain structure, they could
: : develop languages for detailed information exchange, and
: : coordination of their efforts. Therefore, they were able to form
: : great prehistorical civilizations such as ancient egypt or the
: : sumerian empire. However, there was a fundamental difference in
: : their way of thinking to that of the modern man. They functioned
: : automatical, reacting to the environment they perceived, without
: : an own sense of future or introspection - without what we call
: : self-determining, free-will consciousness. Their brain functioned
: : in a mode that perceived sensual input automatically in one half
: : of the brain, and ped this information on to the other half,
: : where reactions were determined based on previous perceptual
: : experience and the biological needs of the organism, whose
: : primary objective is survival. Man perceived those reactions as
: : hallucinated voices, and followed these commands, perceived as
: : "spoken", as ultimate authority and guidance system. The
: : civilizations that were constructed by prehistorical men
: : continued to advance and grow more and more complex.
: : Additionally, problems such as overpopulation and peoples
: : travelling because of survival needs were imminent. Around 1000
: : B.C., prehistorical civilizations were in a crisis because of
: : their growth that they barely could handle. Also, more peoples
: : mixed, as well as their traditions and survival methods, and the
: : guidance systems eventually became too complex and
: : self-contradictory as survival pressures tended to increase. In
: : this environment, people individually began to invent a new form
: : of thinking process - consciousness. Consciousness is an
: : organization of thinking that allows introspection, planning,
: : abstraction and conceptualization. While still perceiving
: : surroundings automatically, with this high-level kind of
: : thinking, the commanding part of the brain is able to form
: : ociations of logically and symbolically related experiences
: : and understand knowledge by integrating it in a wider scope. This
: : process enabled man to make own decisions, based on acting upon
: : selective knowledge and experiences, which can ultimately form
: : ones individual judgments and principles for acting in any given
: : situation.
: : Only with consciousness it is that human beings could survive for
: : long in a constantly changing, complex civilization. Only with
: : consciousness, men's actions can be physically unpredictable
: : unlike any other natural and biological phenomenon. The
: : conscious, self-judging, self-deciding mind is yet the only known
: : force in existence that can exert volitional control over
: : existence, and override the defaults of naturally occurring
: : physiological / biological phenomenons in existence.
: : However, the other side of consciousness is that it enables the
: : individual to do anything possible that it can conceive and that
: : lies within the universal laws of physics. Therefore, only the
: : conscious individual can chose to act good or bad, and be
: : responsible for its actions. Now for the actual question about
: : the source of problems in our society: consciousness means not to
: : have the ability not to chose. Once an individual develops the
: : conscious mind, its actions will always be based on the choices
: : it makes - implicitly or explicitly. Unlike the unconscious man,
: : and the animal, which reacts automatically according to their
: : biological needs and survival pressures, conscious man must chose
: : to exert the effort to satisfy his needs, solve his problems, and
: : act according to his conscious nature. Not to chose becomes a
: : deception that actually is the decision to default to the most
: : easy choice in the short-term, which can be escape of
: : responsibility and "escape" from reality through dishonest
: : self-deception and irrationality (mysticism). Not explicitly
: : chosing to make the efforts required for a satisfying life can
: : leave the conscious individual with chosing laziness,
: : manipulation of others and destruction.
: : Most of the problems in our civilization - as well as the state
: : of todays civilization itself - are a result of conscious human
: : beings limited by their own irrational and dishonest minds
: : resulting from a society that forcibly drags each and everyone
: : into their destructive state of being, steadily trying to evade
: : reality and self-responsibility. The main reason that all
: : conscious people default to this kind of life is that opinions
: : and majorities in civilization are controlled by a few
: : high-ranked manipulators, who have learned that the mind is
: : susceptible to authority and propagate themselves as authorities
: : - in subtle and indirect ways - that replace the real authority
: : of every humans own consciousness and self-judgment. These
: : manipulators have existed since Plato (who suggested that there
: : was no objective reality independent from what anyone thinks or
: : feels - and who suggested that men are evil by nature and
: : therefore need to be controlled by the state - and therefore lay
: : the foundation for justifications and rationalizations used by
: : manipulating elites throughout history).
: : These background manipulators form a social structure of people
: : ruling directly or indirectly over others by force or fraudulent
: : deceptions, based on rationalization that they are doing
: : something good and necessary by exerting their control - based on
: : feeding them a distorted picture of reality and supporting
: : already existing irrational views that help their goals. They
: : come in form of politicians, bureaucrats working in institutions
: : that regulate and suppress whole societies, traditionalists
: : supporting destructive old "moral values", most of the mainstream
: : media, religious leaders that promote the belief in irrational
: : God-authorities, government "entrepreneurs", many judges and
: : lawyers, many university professors, and political lobbyists, to
: : name a few. Anything that supports general irrational beliefs and
: : present repressive systems and is ideally ociated with the
: : state is ideal for manipulating the mes. And if one identifies
: : some of those manipulators and rejects them - they are still
: : surrounded by a society that is constantly fed with
: : irrationality, and creates itself problems with relationships,
: : esoteric beliefs, unhealthiness through drugs and addictive-like,
: : unhealthy food, scepticism, disinformation, etc. Not necessarily
: : everyone practicing dishonesty and irrationality manipulates
: : others. There are mystics, which due to constant exposure to
: : irrationality and mysticism will try to evade reality - they are
: : products, victims perhaps, of aggressive ongoing manipulation
: : that drains their self-control and effective understanding of
: : reality. For the gain of a minority of smart people who learned
: : to live by draining and utilizing others, everyone in our
: : civilization is being aggressively manipulated - to be
: : conformant to a virtual "majority", and to perceive and act after
: : belief systems that are subconsciously perceived as
: : unquestionable "authority" - resulting in an un-natural state of
: : being in which the individual sucbs to neurosis, destructive
: : habits and laziness, because of not being able to see the "big
: : picture" - reality in its full context.
I just wanted to say that you made a very good point in this article. Chivalry is dead today.
