I am a junior in high school and machiavelli is not that hard to understand if you open your mind to it. I read the Prince and the discourses this summer. A critique is your opinion on the literature, the ideas presented in the book, things like that. Basically you are saying what you agreed with and what you didn't, and why. As for the quotes you just have to read the book. It's not that hard. Pick the things you do understand to use as quote. You don't have to understand every last thing, just the general meaning.
