: I'm looking for confirmation on some carvings that are reported to have been found in a vault beneath the river bed of the River Wye, in Wales (reported by Boren and Boren in their book "Following the Ark of the Covenant"). The authors state on the wall opposite a carving of the coat of arms of Sir Francis Bacon (the boar) is a carving with 4 symbols on the first line, one on the second, and the coat of arms of the clan of Gunn on the fourth. The first line has four symbols: and ahnk, a "3", a figure eight with a center bar with small bars at the ends of the central bar, and a circle with a dot or slash in/from the center. The second line has a single symbol which might be construed as a viking style ship. I am trying to confirm this carving since similar carvings are found in California and Utah. I have corresponded with Mr. Boren but he does not recall where he got this information. The authors claim that Dr. Owen found copies of these inscriptions in the writings of Sir Thomal Herbert. Can you direct me to where I can get more information on these carvings as they relate to Sir Francis Bacon and Wales?
: Thank you
