Just research the concecpt of free will and determinism. Libertarians believe the view of free will, hard determinists believe the view of determinism, and soft determinists believe that both free will and determinism can be true.
I would like to say that one cannot find truth in religion, philosophy, or politics. What sounds right for one individual may be wrong for another. I think the most important thing is that the views that are better for the human race in the long run should be followed.
I think religion is important because it is a crutch for many, and it's a great way to govern humans and prevent them from destroying one another, just like politics.
