: If anyone has any information on the historical event, even better if it was from the cowboys side, and attempts to prove the earp's as killers. Thanks
The fact that Virgil Earp allowed Doc Holliday, knowing Doc had bad blood with the cowboys as well as his reputation as one who is more than willing to kill, to go with them to confront the cowboys leads one to believe Virgil wanted a fight, not an arrest, is a very strong sign the Earps intended to kill the cowboys.
Also, the gunfight, not the fued between the to clans, may have started due to a misunderstanding.
I'm speaking of what actually may have triggered the shooting to start. As the Earps and Doc approached, Virgil said, "put up your hands" he then said, "I want your guns." One of the cowboys may have started to put his hands up and when told I want your guns, reached down for his gun to hand it over. When he was reaching for his gun the Earps may have misunderstood the jesture and thought he was retrieving his weapon to use against them. They then pulled thier weapons, fired and then all hell broke loose. That's one theory.
