I am in the process of seeking a literary agent to represent me in presentation of a science fiction novel. I have experienced a considerable amount of difficulty in this process. The publishing industry is filled with false promises. My lessons were costly and hard-learned. If you believe that my material has potential I think that I am ready to make a commitment to get the material published and on the market.
I think I should provide some background on the development of my novel. It was originally, a methodology of learning how to use a word processor. From that, it became a form of entertainment, and it grew from there. Many friends and acquaintances read it, and found it interesting, and over the years, have told me the quality is outstanding. Now, after investing more time and material into it, I have developed this work into something that I think is potentially a novel with some good content. But as my experience thus far has proven, I know absolutely nothing about the publishing industry, and can afford little more in the negative educational processes. For that reason, I find myself looking at other possibilities available on the internet.
This novel is over 700 pages in length, with 18 chapters. It is a story of a terrorist plot to initiate a third word war to destroy western civilization, and initiate an Islamic style dominated global rule of the world. But these people have little understanding of the concept of Mutually ured Destruction (MAD). Neither do they understand the full scenario of the destructive capability of global war and the use of nuclear-chemical-biological warfare they have initiated. It quickly gets beyond control.
The major elements of the story are two Space Stations, one is a strategic defense unit, and the other is dedicated to scientific research of living and working in space. The other element is the survivors on Earth, mainly in the southeastern United States, and how they work together in an attempt to rebuild what is left.
I have no knowledge of the publishing industry beyond a few negatives. I need a professional to help me move forward. If you are interested please respond. My query follows this note:
