I've read almost all of Charles G. Finney's sermons. I didn't see anything in his writings that said God isn't sovereign. The gospel he taught was that of the bible. Jesus came to save His people from their sins. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved. Saved by grace through faith. I've been deeply encouraged by his writings. They really make me look to Jesus when I'm tempted to sin. What is the gospel to you? Are a nominal christian who doesn't have any victory over temptation. Do you ume that you are a christian yet you still live in sin. Afterall, saints do perservere. I believe that with all of my heart. Let not that doctrine be any comfort to you if you live in sin. Because you are not a saint but a sinner. For the good that you would you do not do, but the evil that you would not do, that you practice. Sin dwells in you. You have not been set free. You are wretched in need of Jesus. I thank God-through Jesus Christ that I have been set free. I can now walk according to the Spirit.
