: : : : : I am trying to find a story I had once heard as a child and trying to find the origins of the story.

: : : : : I believe it went like something this:
: : : : : 7 demons who'd come dressed as 'gentlemen' in silence and steal one's voice in order to take an organ and to defeat them one has to scream.(?)

: : : : : I have been told it may have been called, "The Gentlemen" although I have found no reference to the title.

: : : : : I believe this story was remade in an episode of a television show, although I'm not sure which one.

: : : : : Can anybody help?

: : : : : Is the poem or tale written by the Grimm Brothers?

: : : i have also heard that same story when i was a child, though i have also tried to find the tale, but have no luck. i would like to find out what its called . when i was three we lived in italy with my family and i can remember my grandmother telling me that story. when i was only four we moved to russia to be with my other
: : : grandmother(now a current resident in the U.S.)
: : : she also told me of a story where these seven men -like monsters came to a town, stole everyones voices and took seven hearts from the people.i was so intriged by this tale it instantly
: : : became my favorite bedtime tale. then when i was about to turn five we moved back to the U.S. so
: : : that my grandmother could be with us. we are currently living in Mesquite, Texas and i now go to Poteet High School( which, by the way, might as well be named the HELLMOUTH)since we are so full of preps( no offence meant to anyone out there!)if anybody finds any information, i would really appreciate it if they emailed me the info. my email is: pixieluvin69@mail2capricorn.com.
: : : thanks,
: : : P. Potter (to everyone that goes toPHS:
: : : I Like TRavis Plumb)!!!!

: : I've been searching for a little over amonth now, trying to find the origin of this story. The show this tale appeared on was "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". That's how I heard about it in the first place, and they too referred to the title as "the gentlemen". I've read about the story line a few times on various buffy fan sites, hoping to find links to information but haven't yet. If n eone happens to find a site, please email me! It mite help if we knew the national origin of this tale, whether its german or italian or w/e...thank u. If u find a site, post here or emial me @: pop_star_girl@hotmail.com

:
: I have also been trying to find out more about this tale it is fascinating and i also first heard a bout it on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. i would appreciate it if anyone knows where it orginated also. part of the ryhme of the tale goes like
: "can't even shout can't even cry
: the gentlemen are coming by
: looking in windows knocking on doors
: they need seven and they might take yours
: can't call to mom, can't say a word
: you're gonna die screaming and you won't be heard"
: on some message board and stuff people said you might refer to the tale blackheart or one by Michael Ende "momo" i haven't checked into them but im going to look into it soon. i also am going to look into tales originateing from italy and russia and jamacia. Thank you for your time and please give me any up dates you can on this topic.

Has anyone found anything on this? I have ben searching it for a while and I can't come up with anything. I have checkes old Italian, Caribbean, Jamacian, Russian and German Folk tales but have not found anything that resembles the story of the Gentlemen. Please help.
