I am a grauduate student and am currently developing a writing unit for fifth graders based on inspiration from clic children's literature. What I am trying to nail down is the definition of a Children's "Clic Book". I know which books they are and that most were written in the mid and late nineteenth century. My question is, "Other than the time period in which they were written, what distinguishes them from other children's literature?"
I have to wrap up my unit over this weekend so if you can get back to me fairly quickly I would appreciate it. I appreciate any insight you may have.
