Hey all,
Well, okay, there's not really a lot to work with here, I know. But, any ideas you all might have would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for a children's book from probably the late '70s or early-mid 80's. I have no idea what title is, or whom the author was. From what I can recall, the book's about a knight, or knight-like figure (actually, he seemed to have moreso the imagery of the 16th c. "landsknechts" with their pomp and flourish), who I think was a giant-killer, or at least basically he was a hero that fought giants and saved different communities from their "giant" problems. He wielded a mive zweihander (two-handed great sword). It may have been dragons that he fought, but I'm pretty sure it was giants. Anyway, I think the moral of the story probably had to do with reconciliation, i.e., he and the giants learned how to live together or something. But, I might very well be wrong about that.
The artwork, from I what I remember, was basically line-drawings, as oppossed to inks, or watercolors. I'm pretty sure that it was basically black and white, but it's possible that there was actual coloring, but that the colors probably would've been kept fairly muted. The drawings themselves were very much the focus of the artwork (as opposed to colors). The drawings seemed to have an almost Albrecht Durer(ish) style to them, not really so, but kinda.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jesse
