It was a very difficult decision for me, knowing whether to invest in further MLM education or not as I was only 21 at the time. I was flat broke and remember my upline giving me 15 'quality' leads to plow through. I remember sitting by my tiny desk calling everyone up and literally being eaten up alive by the prospects I phoned. They slammed the phone down and even swore -- how depressing!
I didn't understand *why* people sign up to an MLM program. I was just talking about how good my product was and how solid the company was - using the same boring, 'canned' scripts thousands of aspiring network marketers have been using for years. Is there no doubt why 95% of people failed? David Ledoux's system, for example, (http://www.lovemlm.com) was an eye-opener for me. I just followed it step-by-step for phone prospecting, have used it on the internet for screening the cold market. In fact, I quickly got to the point where old friends were asking me when I'm finally going to sign them up. This is because they were emotionally involved with my program. I've done other courses as well, but I mention Ledoux because his energetic approach really got me off my lazy . :) I've really been experimenting with his two-step approach to phone prospecting. Where the first phone call is just meant to entice the prospect and keep them excited. Beautiful!
One thing to remember is that facts tell and stories sell. If you have not formulated any great stories you'll be struggling like the poor 95%. It would have for sure cost me thousands of dollars in my MLM business had I not invested that small amount into education.
I really enjoy this forum and would love to hear from others personally!
Best Wishes,
Daniel
