Everyone should read at least one of Bulgakov's novels or plays before death. Every piece of literature by Bulgakov I have ever read possessed an intrinsic quality not found in the words but between them. This quality is not a statement but more a question: "What is this?" And this inquiry doesn't pertain to the section of text it's self, but rather instigates wonder at all levels of thought in all situations. This enigma is more easily contracted in *The Master and Margarita* but nonetheless is present in *The White Guard* (Days of the Turbins) -as both leave the indellible question: "This happened, whats +this+?"
P.S. (Corny but enjoyable, The Master and Margarita is made especially enjoyable by listening to "Sympathy for the Devil" -Rolling Stones, especially at the Devil's ball and the beginning when Woland meets Ivan (Homeless)
