: Try to locate MIDDLE EAST WAR PROJECTS of JOHNSON, DRAKE & PIPER, INC. FOR THE CORPS OF ENGINERS, U. S. ARMY 1942-1943. Inside, there is a laid-in pamphlet included that contains "A Complete List of the Personnel Engaged in the Middle East War Projects For The Corps of Engineers U. S. Army."
: I found my 60-year-old copy on the Internet for under $30 plus shipping. It came today. There are a number of copies available from $30-$90, depending on condition. If ordering, be sure that the pamphlet is included.
: In the above pamphlet there is a Leonard B. Sugrue listed. I found my own father's name also.
: You might also find a copy of "PAN AFRICA: Across the Sahara in 1941 with Pan Am" by Tom Culbert & Andy Dawson (first published in 1997). My copy came via another Internet bookstore. My father worked for Johnson.Drake and Piper during WW11. I have letters from him and a sketch with the title"Ordnance Group No. 5-Heliopolis. Would appreciate any information about this project that anyone has.
