: I don't appreciate Spielberg's last movie "saving"..., because I consider it the same patriotic, chauvinistic and hypocrite allies' propaganda spot.
: World War II ended in 1945, and now is time to forget everything about it. Only by a historical point of view, it's worth talking about.
: Spielberg's movie is only a way to remember European 'inferiority' to America's overwhelming power during the forties.
: I repeat the concept one more time: we must forget everything concerning the World War II's Europe invasion, and celebrate the above mentioned event only by a historycal point of view.
Although I am no great fan of the patriotism exposed in Saving... I do believe the movie is not only about WWII. It is also about why soldiers fight and die, in any war. Moreover studying WWII only historically is a nonsense, the whole purpose of history is to understand the human, economical and sociological consequences of specifc events. WWII was a major "innovation" in human history. it has had tremendous consequences on the people of Europe (I am French).
Finally, I don't believe the Holocaust should be forgotten. How can you study it from a 'historical" point of view?!! In these days when ideas still attract some people, it is worth reminding people that the s were the negation of what mankind has been trying to achieve for thousands of years.
