: Hey there.....sounds like you're learning to sail.....no torn sails = not trying to learn to sail hard enough. To make a sail light enough to be fun, just means they tear sometimes. Doesn`t sound like your sail is torn that bad. The clear material is called Mono-film by the Windsurfing industry. But is actually extruded polyester film.

: The bottom or tack panel can be replaced in full or sometimes just part of it can be replaced. No big deal. Price is around 25 to 40 dollars.

: The downhaul or tack is a little different. Your NP Gybe is not a top of the line model, therefore they tend to not reenforce these areas as much. It may not be a big deal, but it may need some reenforcing. You must remember this area carries all the downhaul load.

: I would be happy to look at your sail or answer any of your Questions. I`ve been fixing windsurfing sails in Avon, Hatteras Island for the past 12 years. I had my own shop next to the Dairy Queen and Sail World in Avon. I`m moving in with Ride Hatteras (also in Avon)this year. Hopefully this will make me easier to find and I can serve the windsurfing public even better. You can call me at 252-995-4819 or Ride Hatteras at 252-995-6755. Email is fine also.
