: : Actually the book is out of publish, and I have been blessed enough to posess a copy, but I wanted to know if anyone else has read it, because I truly loved it, because of it's simplicity and it complexity. I have heard of teh book called Paris Mitchell of Kings Row which I believe to be a sequel but don't take my word for it. Did you enjoy it?
: Is King's Row about a little boy who grows up to be a doctor? Loves a crazy girl? Best friend gets badly hurt? Or is it about a factory girl who falls in love with the owner's son? I think Kings Row and Parris Mitchell may be the same: one the novel and one the movie, but I'm not sure.
"Kings Row" is indeed the name of the book, by Henry Bellamann, from which the film was made. (What a cast! Robert mings, Claude Rains, Ann Sheridan, Judith Anderson, Maria Ouspenskaya -- and Ronald Reagan, who's actually not half bad. Clic score by Erich Wolfgang Korngold! One of my most treasured video tapes.) The book was a bestseller and spawned a sequel, "Parris Mitchell of Kings Row." I am posting this some time after your exchange. I hope you see it!
