: I have a German Prayer Book from 1828 in mint condition. Outside decorated with metal corner pieces and a gold(?) middle plate on the front with the initials M.A.S. and the year 1829, and the back side with the initial G.P. 1829 engraved. The book has 2 metal clasps, each with a small gold(?) inlay. The outside of the book pages is gold. The inside title of the book is "Der Himmlische Baumgarten", which means "The heavenly tree garden". The book was printed in Köln (Colonia) in Germany by H.J.Gatti, in 1828. An interesting detail: On the last page a number of nuns have signed their name and the date (I ume that the book was ped on to another nun when the other one died). : Send me an email if you are interested in this rare item.
