: I only know a few lines of the poem,
: "when all about you are losing their wits
: your main calm/focused."
: I'm not even sure if these are correct, but
: the main idea of the poem is about becoming a man or coming of age.
: Thanks in advance,
: Steve
The poem is called "If" by Rudjard Kipling, and the first few lines go as follows:
If you can keep you wits when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
Hope this helps, Kate
