: : Just wondering what people thought of the play. Did you think that Nora was justified it tellling Torvald that she was terribly wronged by him and papa?
: : I'm sure this can be seen many different ways but I'd appreciate it if you all told me your own personal views with reasons to back it up. Thanks a bunch.
: Everyone must take responsibility for their own lives. Torvald and Nora were both "to blame" for giving in to the social values which were/are oppressive and
: demeaning. I personally do not care for Nora. I believe she needs to take more responsibility for herself. She allowed herself to be treated in such a manner.
: I believe she realizes this, which is admirable, but then she deserts her family. I don't believe this is the solution. It makes it sound like women can't
: develop fully in society, and need to abandon it in order to find themselves. I'm rambling. To answer your question, no. While Torvald was certainly faulty, Nora
: should look at herself before ping the blame. Just an opinion, and an under-developed one at that. Fill me in on flaws in logic.
I have to agree with Laura on that one. Look, do either of you know of a good essay topic? I have to do a 1500 word essay on either Hamlet, Oedipus the King, or The Doll's House and I want to do it on The Doll's House b/c I think that it was the easiest of the 3 to understand. Please help me to pick a topic.
Thanks.
