The Voice of one singing in the Mountains
The Argument
As the true faculty of wisdom is experience, the true method of its acquisition must be the method which experiments. This method I treat of.
I
That the Poetic Genius is the true man, and that the body or outward form of the Superman is to be derived from the Poetic Genius, which by the Ancients was call'd Messiah & Satan & Tempter.
II
As all men are alike in outward form, So (and with the same infinite variety) all are alike in the Poetic Genius. Thus the Supermen, (tho' infinitely various), shall all be alike.
III
No man can think, write, or speak at liberty but from his heart. Thus all sects of Philosophy are from the Poetic Genius adapted to the Rational limitations of every individual. The Superman however must from the Spiritual liberty of the individual be readapted to the Poetic Genius.
IV
[This proposition is missing.]
V
As the Religions of all Peoples are derived from each People's different reception of the Poetic Genius -- which is every where call'd the Spirit of Prophecy --, So (and with the same infinite variety) all Philosophies are adapted to each Philosopher's different conception of the Superman (which is known here & there as the Sphere of Poetry).
VI
The Greek & Roman Mythologies are an Original adaptation of the Poetic Genius: this is possible thanks to the unrestrained nature of their bodily sensations.
VII
As all Religions are alike, (tho' infinitely various), So all Philosophies, &, as all similars, have one goal.
The Superman is the goal, he being the Poetic Genius.
-- After William Blake, "All Religions are One" (an Original adaptation)
