I have a 2 ½ year old well behaved, mild tempered female Beagle. While my dog is usually a happy go lucky dog, happy to meet everyone, a real social dog, her behavior has changed. Thursday afternoon I noticed that I couldn’t find her anywhere in the house. I started calling her, only to find that she had wiggled herself under the bed in the guest room. I had to lift the bed up for her to get out. Then Friday comes, she started whining for no reason, walking around the house, tail wagging but whining. She did not seem to be in pain. Later that night, she brings me one of her toys, whining again. I thought maybe she couldn’t find the little squeaker in that toy, so I found it and gave it back to her. Later still while we were asleep, she started whining again, just laying there in her bed, again in no obvious distress. Saturday and Sunday, her whining was almost constant. Again, not in any pain, was still eating and drinking as usual, tail wagging, just whining all the time. She wasn’t leaving anyone go anywhere in the house alone, though, and carried that toy around with her constantly. My husband couldn’t even get her to go outside. Monday comes, ohh boy! She didn’t whine as much, but didn’t leave that toy for a minute! Just lay in her bed all day long. Didn’t eat, drink or go outside at all on Monday. She never had a litter of pups, not spayed, finished her last heat 10 weeks ago. What can be wrong with her?
