Personally i find larkin wonderful, he has written some of the most spellbinding poems, and he seems able to take a skim off the top of everyday life and manipulate it into a metaphor for almost anything he wishes.
But!... for anyone who has read specifically 'The Whitsun Weddings' to what extent do you feel his failure in love in real life was portrayed in the poem by his clear and distinct insulting of the marrital tradition?
I've developed my own opinion on this subject but as this is my first time in this room having typed in larkin in a search engine, i thought i'd be social and ask what other people thought. Consider me the examiner and you the student :O)
