I personally agree with the other two suggestions. The Conservative Mind was my starting point and my favorite Kirk work. However, many people prefer Randolph of Roanoke. For a light read, go with Redeeming the Time. I would also suggest a series of taped lectures produced by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Some are better than others are and they do cost a bit, but I really do enjoy them. You can find out more about them at www.isi.org. Also, if you aren't a member, you should join ISI and get a subscription to the Intercollegiate Review (free for students). It and Modern Age are journals founded by Dr. Kirk and produced by ISI. Finally, if you are interested, I will get you information on the Russell Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal. Located at Piety Hill in Mecosta MI, Ms. Annette Kirk uses it to preserve and preserve and further Russell's ideas and work.
