Springfield, Ill. TV reporter Julie Staley (left) has a problem with the message gay activist Rick Garcia wrote in a Ronald Reagan memory book at the Illinois State Capitol. "Oh my gosh!" she says. "He totally defamed Ronald Reagan about his having no stand on the AIDS situation and HIV and all that. It was very cruel." Staley, whose cameraman told security about the message, yelled to Garcia: "You are classless, totally tasteless. You are a big loser." Garcia tells Michael Miner: "In my thirty years of activism I have had many many occasions to have interaction with reporters. Never have I encountered such unprofessional behavior."

"The Bush people have no right to speak for my father, particularly because of the position he's in now," Ron Reagan said son of former the President then. "Yes, some of the current policies are an extension of the 80's. But the overall thrust of this administration is not my father's - these people are overly reaching, overly aggressive, overly secretive and just plain corrupt. I don't trust these people."
“Patriotism, like religion and whiskey, is a good thing, taken in moderation.”
-- Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)
" President Bush has created the largest credibility gap since Richard Nixon ... He has broken the basic bond of trust with the American people. " - Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), in a speech at Brookings Institution on 04/05/04
