Hello my friend;
You may use several illustrations to indicate a concept of "3 in 1" but if you are trying to explain a trinity for God, it will never come out right, for God is one, not three.
The U.S. Governmet is one example of 3-in-1; Legislative, makes thelaws; Executive, enforces the laws; Judicial, interprets the laws; one government.
YOU WROTE: I HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO 15 KIDS HOW 3 IN 1 WORKS. MY HANDBOOK DOES NOT GIVE ME SUFFICIENT INFO. I AM FROM THE DUTCH REFORM CHURCH IN GRAHAMSTOWN, SOUTH AFRICA. CELL. NR. 0828981504 I WISH THEIR IS SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME EXPLAIN THIS TO MY KIDS IN A PROPER WAY, BECAUSE THIS IS THEIR FIRST YEAR IN MY CL. THEY ARE ALL ABOUT 13 YEARS OLD AND ASKING A LOT OF QUESTIONS.
THEO'S RESPONSE: God is one. When God says "I alone created the world" he uses the first-person-singular, which carries the same meaning from language to language, so it cannot mean one thing in Hebrew, and something else in Greek; or one thing in Greek and something else in English. The same applies to Dutch, or any other language.
Everytime God uses the pronoun "I" he uses the first-person-singular. "I AM" does not mean "We are."
The kids have a very good sense of the language, and should not be subjected to the doctrinal tricks of theology, to change the meaning of simple pronouns.
