: Was Aeneas fated to leave Dido for the building of Rome, or was it from his own free will that he decided to leave her?

Yes he was fated to leave her. Unlike Heidee I think he was in love. I think that he could have perfectly been in love with her even though they didn't know each other for long.On the other hand I think that in many situations love stems from a lustful relation ship. All this makes me be sure that Aneas was in love with Dido and that the only reason he would leave the woman he loves is because he was fated or felt that it was his duties to the gods to leave her. Does any of this make sense?? I hope so. Bye, Mariana
