Turnus who represents the old world must be defeated by the new Roman power. For why would Virgil, who had Augustus as Patron, make the Roman from an old defeated culture. Virgil takes the "best parts" of the old worl cultures and from them forges the Romans. Whiule reading this work it is important not read it like Homer which was a reglious text but to remeber that Virgil's work is full of polictical statements of what a roman should be.


: Aeneas' character: so he was a wonderful guy who did everything the way the gods wanted and so is the hero. BUT what about Turnus? can he be seen as a hero?Does he have similar qualities or not. is he even in the same league as aeneas?
