I know its not in vogue right now to worry about the environment and what sort of world we are leaving for our childrens future. I mean, our economy is going very well right now (America's) and everyone's happy and the future looks bright.
However, in the next 50 years or so, the world will reach what is called population saturation, which means that the world will neither have the space, the water, the resources, or the food to sustain such a huge population (30 billion by 2050).
What will the world be like for our children? Their water and their air will be polluted, there will be horrible overcrowding in the major cities, people starving in the streets (Im talking America here, not just developing nations).
The Mayans beleive that one day mother nature will rise up against us for raping and destroying her. They beleive that natural disasters will wipe out the majority of humanity and civilization - doesnt sound all that far-fetched to me!
