I think we've found the borders of our dimensions. String theory will be more important because of this. It will be used in ICT in order to create and develop new ways of using computers in our daily live. But what will the consumer think of it? Would we like to live in a community full of computers and chips? Would we like to have them doing everything for us? You know every good thing has its disadvantage. Human gets lazy, doesn't want to work. Besides, this type of "civilisation" can only be used in a small scale: only 0,01% of the people worldwide can afford these new technologies. Most of the people wouldn't want this new technology. So technology will reach its top soon (it could very well be possible that this top has been reached already) and then it will fall down. we don't need computers in our 'new society'.
