"I read this last (missed it the first time through), and just started laughing and laughing. Yes, you could say that. If I took it correctly, that is. Clouds pass. No big deal."
You did. Clouds pass. Like the weather, no big deal.
How 'bout those guys that "play with the weather?" I mean, really play with it..claim to create all sorts of conditions. That must be useful, I gotta think...parlor tricks? Shell games? A new kind of warfare? imagine the usefulness of it....heh...it's getting late here and I'm yawning. Besides that I can't keep up with you. All those references and you seem to have an affinity for the Chinese and Japanese models...but then maybe you just are thorough. I'd like to read more of these myself...I barely looked at Daoism. Seemed familiar to me like the back of my hand but then I had read Bhuddism and kind of felt it along the similar beaten pathway... I think both of those are closer to philosophies than religions, but I guess you take any philosophy and add some ritual and you have a recipe for another way to see it all.
I like Zhuangzi's (?) way...whee makes a lot more sense to me....no thuds.
"No, just bad myths (as opposed to good myths)."
Bad myth-take huh?
I'll try to catch up on some of your references tomorrow...Sounds like fun reading to me. (I tried a little of oldfriend's suggestion on Penrose, and ended up wanting to beat my head with a hammer for relief, so I thought I'd just move on).
