: ethics is where we're at in the present debate (I argue that a philosophy debate extends through the centuries).
Would you then disregard the other foci of philosophy? or have you simply already solved these questions?
: ETHICS greatly interest me.
: 1. we must distinguish ethivs from morals. Morals are based on survival and extends to society surviving inorder to give our person a better chance of survival. High morality is selfishness par excellence.
MORAL 1 a : of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior :
ETHICAL b : expressing or teaching a conception of right behavior c : conforming to a standard of right behavior d : sanctioned by or operative on one's conscience or ethical judgment e : capable of right and wrong action
this is the standard definition of the distinction. one is the doing of, the other is the knowing of, right patterns of behaviour.
: 2. Ethics is the science of self and society and all forms of men, living in the perfection of nature.
What? It must be a study of people, since it must involve them, but the rest is highly suspect, as the words are mostly empty of meaning. i.e., the "perfection of nature" and "All forms of men"
: For example, the sun rises at 5 am. You rise at 5 pm.
Is this simply invective? does it somehow, in some way, relate to what you said above?
: Numbers are perfect forms (Platon), and architecture should be designed accordingly, so that man can achieve his destiny...er you may take that to mean live in harminy with the world.
Here you almost make a statement of ethics. are you trying to say that the most ethical goal is to live in harmony with the world? if so, what do you mean by world? for that matter, what do you mean by harmony?
:
: Consider the man who repeatedly tried to wlk into a mountain. He became extinct
what? people don't become extinct. it refers to an evolutionary process; one person cannot evolve. and how does one walk into a mountain?
:
: ethics involves undrestanding the elements, being in good physical shape, conforming to te laws of nature: the science of living, AND organising our affairs.
all of these things appear to be more method than theory, and therefore more moral than ethical. Also, every statement in the sentence needs to be clarified. i.e. , "elements", "laws of nature" "science of living"
: Perfection is important in ethics. The attempt is absolute perfection.
This is tautological. perfection implies a perfect moral and ethical state.
: I think the coming leap into cyborgs will help this a lot.
this would seem to be at odds with your "living in harmony with the world" statement; but maybe not, since you didn't really say anything in specific in either case.
: a major issue then is...where does creativity fit into place?
what? as far as I can see, your previous statements did not allow any "place" for anything; it was so fragmented as to amount to nothing at all. even if you had said something, this would be a very advanced question, if in fact it was in contention at all.
as I re-read this, it seems very severe. this is only because it is an important question, and some of what you said might be interesting. please clarify, so that a disscussion might commence.
