: If they're going to put the same laws on it as alcohol then they're going to have to find a way to determine, if an accident occurs, which would mean the restrictions have not been headed, whether or not it was because the person, or persons, involved where under the influence of Marijuana. Until they come up with a marijuana "breathalizer" that can determine the above they're not going to be able to put the same restrictions on it as they do alcohol. I totally believe that marijuana should be legalized but I also believe that it should be regulated. It does impare the senses and if you don't have a law against operating heavy machinery, driving and such, then we'll have a lot more accidents caused by the abuse of marijuana. The only way to inforce such a law it to be able to monitor when its broken and as far as I know we have no way of telling if an immediate situation was caused by a person under the influence because thc stays in your system for up to 30 days. If you have any comments on this I would love to hear them.
