you left out the part where the bullet entered his skull from behind. he was back in the hallway and his life was finally ending. he gave in to big brother because his own self will and individuality was broken down. he died in the sense that he accepted everything he was given. to him, 2+2=5 if they said so. his life wasnt even worth living. this book, compared to christ, is BITTER view of christianity.
