PG does essentially say a soul is needed for life, and even if this is not the case, PG does say there is a supernatural characteristic in life that is needed for it. Something like that is usually called a soul. If the word is not entirely accurate, my apologies. I did not "resort to silly name calling, evasion of the issues, arguments ad populum, ridiculous ertions."
My argument simply asks why PG believes in a supernatural characteristic in life that is needed for life which, by its very nature, cannot be proven until we can explore the supernatural, uming it existed, which it does not. My best argument is that it makes more sense to believe in what we observe than what we do not observe. Even though this is somewhat weak, I have not seen anything more compelling from PG.
I find as much reason to believe in a supernatural characteristic for stones as I do in one for life.
