I read his book 'Moby D*ck(can you believe the censor is blocking this word?) when I was a tee*ager (yep, mad censor blcoking this word too)-and the only reason I read it was that it is supposed to be 'a clas*ic' (also censored- what a madman sysop).
I did not think it was a good book.
The quality of the sentences, taken in isolation, was high.
However I found the plot silly. I thought the writing was far too verbose- ye gods this and ye gods that.
Also, the characters were not overly deep, and for me not that interesting either.
If you're from Moldova you would be familiar with the Russian writers of the 19th C. They s**t all over American writers of the same epoch
