Hi there. There are plenty of Biblical concepts in Moby Dick; the most obvious one is the exiled character of Ishmael; you can find his Biblical counterpart in Genesis Chapter 16. Father Mapple refers very clearly to Jonah and the Whale story, although he makes some alterations to the story. There is also reference to the inherrent sinfulness of man in the sermon by the cook Fleece in Chapter 64. This can be paralelled to Romans 5:12-14. Hope that helps you, blessings to you!
