The Douay was okay for what it was at the time, but it is a translation from Jerome's Latin version and not from the original languages. That is why there is some discrepancy. The current, accepted version of the Bible for Roman Catholics (in America) is the New American Bible - St. Joseph edition. It is readable and fairly good. I prefer the King James Version, but you can find the Lord Jesus Christ in just about any of the English versions . . . . and finding Him, one finds Salvation.
