: I found the Odyssey to have some paralles with the Bible. Man in the image of God (or gods) Genesis 1:26 "let us make them in our image" Through out the Bible there are warnings of the Savior returning just as in the Odyssey there are warnings of Odysseus's return. Psalm 7:12 "If one dose not repent..." God's inter action with man John 1:14 And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And how Jesus did not come as the people expected...so did Odyessus not return as the suitors expected, and they treated him harshly thus condeming them selfs like the romans and Jesus Odyessus is of a "good nature" in which that which oposses him is of an evil nature just as in the bible that which oposses God is of an "evil nature" Homer calles Ulysses "only begotten son" of Telemachus..any way I have homework to do and I have do do a paper along these lines...HELP
Angie- I'm a student at Auburn University in Alabam. Anyway, I have noticed the same thing you have about the similarities between the Bible and the Odyssey. I liked what you noticed. I have noticed this in some other aspects also. I have a paper coming up soon so I will be researching this more. I would love to share ideas with you. I think we can help each other on our papers. I am running late right now, and you may have already turned your paper in, but if you want to talk about this with me please e-mail me at deyowad@mail.auburn.edu Thanks. Adam
