Dear Everybody
I've got a essay to complete in about a week and
I need some ideas pls!
The question is: Why does O tell spend so much time
telling stories.
So far, I reckon in Bks 9-12 when O tells his own
story it's cos Homer can then use the 1st pers. to add
immediacy to the story. O needs to tell these stories
in order to reveal his heroic status to the Phaiacians.
I'm off down the library tomorrow (aaargh!) but thought
I'd see if there was some kindly brain box out there...
Best regards - C
