Would this be the same Dr. Van Sertima who published as fact in 1984 his belief that the Dogon people (i believe of Mali) discovered the existence of Syrius B in the 12th century? Syrius B of course is the white dwarf partner of Sirius (the Dog Star), invisible to the eye and an astronomical discovery apparently not "claimed" by the white man until less than 150 years ago. Did Van Sertima eventually theorize on just how the Dogon discovered this star? I only mention this after having read Dr Van Sertima's "Response to My Critics" which unfortunately reads just as vituperative and "scholarly" as some of the messages posted on the various boards here at killdevilhill.
