As the millenium draws to a close and the bloodiest century in human history ends as well, I wonder about the legacy of the events of the past 100 years. It is my contention that this century has brought about the most dynamic changes to the whole of the human race of any 100 years in human history. In light of this, I wish to pose a question to invite a thoughtful dialogue on the subject.
What do you think has been the most important event or series of events of the 20th century and why?
I am curious to see if one might choose a positive development like the onset of human rights reform around the globe, as epitomized by the civil rights movement in the U.S. and South Africa, or a negative event, like the rise of the s in post WWI Germany. Certainly one could make a case for a myriad of things.
What do you think?
