In researching the Knights of the Golden Circle you will find very few doents. This organization was "SUPER SECRET" and operated almost entirely "esoterically" (if that is a word.) Most research data dealing with the KGC has come from the families of former members thru oral tradition and/or family papers. The primary purpose of the KGC before the War of Rebellion, was empire building southward thru Mexico, Central and South America. After the war their plans changed and they dedicated their lives, fortunes and families to the "CAUSE". Please note here I did not say Lost Cause, for these die-hard Rebels never cried "Uncle". The sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons of the old Rebels continued to fight the Yankees, using Guerilla tactics, and prey on Yankee gold until at least the 1920s. Jesse James, The Younger Bros. Daltons, and nearly every other Western Badman was a member of the KGC or as it became better known "The Rebel Underground" The exhumation of J. Frank Dalton's body, aka Jesse W. James, in Granbury, TX last month was in hoping to prove he was really Jesse James and that James' killing in MO in 1882 was a hoax. Jesse James became the leader of the Rebel Underground upon his hoaxed death. Historians laugh off this history as a figment of many idots' imaginations. However, there is much evidence that proves this is unknown history. Several years back, I wrote a small book on the suject that caused an uproar among the degreed historians in America. The book did catch the attention of a few renegade historians and they began to research the KGC in depth. They were shocked at their findings and now a serious investigation is being conducted by a number of professionals on this almost unknown group. One day this history will replace much of what we read today about the Wild West. When you absorb this I'll tell you what happened to the "millions" in gold that the KGC hoarded in the period 1864-1920. Now worth billions. Remember where you first seen this. Old Indian
