Here's my moment of self-centerdnes... if anyone cares
1. A Tale of Two Cities, by C. Dickens
a psychological masterpiece in which a weird sort of truth prevails.
2. The Power of One, by B. Courtenay
A triumphant story, if not as eloquent as the former.
3. Mr. Peters Connections, a play by A. Miller
If you have ever enjoyed a good play, a sense of pleasure or passion, READ THIS. a little obscure, but its profundity knows no bounds.
4. Wuthering Heights, by E. Bronte
This book me had me by the same kind of string a soap opera twists and turns you with. a classic, and i'm not even one for romances.
5. Romeo and Juliet, by W. Shakespear
again, it's a play, but i think it epitomizes Shakespear and poetry. Beautiful, romantic, classically tragic and passionate. Read it for simply the richness of the language, the musical flow of the words, if not the story.
