Can you help and explain to me how he represents evil. Even though it is an easy thing to pick up I sense no evil in him. this is just a shot in the dark and probably a waste of time but i think it was his obscure intentions towards Raskolnikovs sister and the unresolved death of his wife. he really doesnt come off as a solid character to me, i always saw him as another tormentor of Rask. conscience because of the way he inadvertently told Rask. that he knew what happened to the old woman. just a thought though, nothing to take seriously, ive only read it once
