Thank you for your enlightening email! Per Connie Dringman's email to me on May 12, 2004, she writes, "We have never had Affenpinschers have knee problems that had to be surgically repaired." My surgeon indicated that this condition is usually a congenital deformity - so thank you for backing up his claim!
: It's too bad people like Nora don't do their homework before they buy a puppy -- had she researched the breed, she would have known that a luxating patella is extremely common among small breed dogs. She doesn't provide all the information here -- only the things that make her look good and make Connie look bad. I have purchased two dogs from Dringman Kennels and cannot be more happy with them. And one them does have a luxating patella, but I knew that might happen before I bought the dog, as it is common and had nothing to do with the breeding. Connie has never been anything but honest and fair and truthful with me and with people I have recommended to her. So, Nora, you need to take a lesson from Connie and learn how to be truthful as well!
: : WARNING: THIS IS MY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE BUYING A PUPPY FROM DRINGMAN KENNELS. I have been duped by this so-called “Christian” puppy mill! I purchased an Affenpinscher puppy on July 2003 from this kennel and the dog arrived with 2 sets of worms, an extreme case of itching (which requires her to be on medication for the rest of her life) and a herniated umbilical cord. By the 9th month, the puppy was lame in her rear left leg and required immediate surgery for a patellar luxation. The rear right leg will probably also need surgery. The dog weighs 14 lbs., instead of the 7-8 lbs breed standard. My vet bills have so far amounted to $2,717.67, plus, I spent $875.00 for the puppy to which the breeders, Connie & Dennis Dringman, have reimbursed me only $412.64, in spite of our contract that reads, “We guarantee the puppy against any hereditary or congenital disorder that may interfere with the puppy’s ability to lead a normal healthy life”. The Dringman’s have refused to respond to my recent communications and are continuing to breed. BE AWARE! : : N. Castro, skeeter180sx@yahoo.com
